random quote

For a thousand years I wielded the powers of The Wish. I brought ruin to the heads of unfaithful men. I brought forth destruction and chaos for the pleasure of the lower beings. I was feared and worshipped across the mortal globe. And now I'm stuck at Sunnydale High. Mortal. Child. And I'm flunking math. - Anya Jenkins

Life List

"Live Like You Were Dying'" is a popular country ballad recognized by many people in today's society. The song deals with a man who sets out to live as much as he can before his terminal illness sends him on to whatever comes next. The lyrics are an inspiration to many... including me.

When I was 14 years old, I got the idea to write this list. I needed a goal in my life... something to look forward to. Writing this list opened my mind up to the vast possibilities that surrounded me. Anything that came to mind and seemed fun, accomplishing or good for the spirit, I wrote down. Before long the list had grown to include a variety of ideas. It had small things such as getting a tattoo and finding the number of licks to the center of a tootsie pop; but it also included big things such as forgiving all pain inflicted by others and discovering my true belief reguarding a higher power.

I still have the list today, and I still add to it to fuel my enthusiasm and curiosity for living. This list is one of my biggest inspirations, so it should be no surprise that my main goal is to never finish it. When I'm an old woman sitting on my porch swing with my grandchildren, I not only want to be able to tell them exciting and inspiring things about my life; I want them to witness my continuing quest for adventure and knowledge until I take my last breath.

Fear and comfort are vices. Dare to live... and keep on living.
