YAY SUN!

category: childhood,life | 02/21/2010 | c1mments

The snow is finally melting!!!! I’m so happy I can hardly stand it. As the snow melts more and more, my smile gets bigger and bigger!

Bucket list update: I got back in touch with Lucy, Maggie and Jess!!! Who are they? Well, they were my first friends, to put it bluntly. When I was a baby, they lived next door and babysat me all the time. We spent a LOT of time together and they unfortunately moved away when I was about five or six years old. I haven’t seen them in over ten years, and now thanks to the magic of facebook, we’re back in touch! That’s one item I’m so happy to be able to strike off of my list. I missed them so much. Now all we need to do is get together and break out the Donkey Kong SNES game, and it will be just like old times. :P

Bad news for the site… I deleted the new layout. *gasp* *shock* *horror* Yes, I know. But today I was looking at it in all it’s… well, that was the problem. It didn’t really have anything to it. It was pathetic, actually. So I trashed it and now I’m starting over. Problem is, I’m not quite sure what direction I want to take the new look in. And honestly, with all of my assignments piling up, I’m not sure if I have the time. It may have to wait until spring break. I dunno…

What I would like to ask all of you (especially my lovely affiliates) is what you use for inspiration? Any photos, websites, movies, books, stores? Honestly, anything cool that has started your creative juicies flowing in the past, please forward it to me. My muse could use a hit… she’s tired. LOL!

Anyway, I have to go study for my “Information Celebration”… that’s my teacher’s code word for “Exam”. :(

So I’ve been going through some old disks and I’ve been finding some very interesting stuff. First off, I found a list of ALL of my old affiliates, which eased my mind since some have moved and I lost their email address. Hopefully I’ll be back in touch with everyone soon. Sorry it took so long, guys!

Second, I found a file FULL of my stories. When I was a kid, I used to play this old computer program called “Storybook Weaver Deluxe”. It was basically an editor with a space at the top where I could put clip art or draw pictures. I used to sit at this thing for hours and recreate my favorite fairy tales, or I’d make up something of my own. I’m working on copying the stories over, so I can have them all printed out and bound. If I can work past the embarrassment (I wrote them when I was VERY little, so you can imagine the quality!) I’ll post a few here.

So going through all of these put me in my classic nostalgic mood, so I began to think of my first website on geocities. I decided to log in at my old account to see if anything was still there, and I found out that they’re closing. I’m so sad to hear this because it was such a great starter host. I learned a lot from it. Has anyone else ever used geocities to build a website? If you currently do have a site there, where are you considering moving to?
